Thanks to Brian of BHPImaging in Laramie for sending us this gorgeous wedding from Cody…

Valli and Matt Vanderpool were married February 16, 2013 at the Holiday Inn in Cody, with their reception at the Cody Cattle Company…. After the ceremony, they took a trolley from the Holiday Inn to the Cody Cattle Comapny, with a quick stop at the Buffalo Bill Reservoir for portraits… This wedding was a party from start to finish, with awesome fun people!

I have to add that I LOVE these pictures…who knew that you could create beach images in Wyoming?!

Thanks to Double H Photography, based near Lance Creek, WY, for sending us this fun wedding spotlight! Here’s what Heather has to say about this sweet couple…

Charles and Andrea had to make several last minute adjustments to their July 20, 2012 wedding day, which was scheduled to take place near Vedauwoo, between Laramie and Cheyenne, but had to be moved due to fire danger. The couple took all the changes in stride, and managed to pull off a beautiful indoor wedding and reception. We even managed to sneak the bride and groom off to downtown Laramie for a few outdoor photos. A fun wedding party and guest list full of great people of all ages combined with the bright flowers and “go with the flow” attitude made this one of my favorite couples to date!

Thanks again to Heather of Double H Photography near Lance Creek for sending in this spotlight! If you’d like to see your wedding featured on our blog, it’s easy — shoot us an email at brides@wyomingweddingsonline.com!

For one, check out this awesome Shoesday Tuesday pic…I want these shoes!  And for two…Brian gave away the coolest little jars at our Laramie Bridal Expo last Sunday. They included the top 10 reasons why BHP should be your wedding photographer — it was so cute! Just had to share…

ENGAGEMENT STORY from Disney World!

Ohhhhhh you guys, I LOVE this proposal story from Stephanie from Disney World, where I was hoping to see an engagement on Valentine’s Day this week when we were there…but alas, I did not. However, Stephanie saved the day by sharing her sweet story with us! Check this out!

My fiance David and I have known each other since high school and even dated for about a year and a half while there. We broke up when we went to college but reconnected in the fall of 2010. We went to Florida in August to see his family and went to Disney to celebrate his sister’s birthday. (Literally it is my favorite place in the world and I was there for the first time last March. ) So we were only in Disney for the day, and I was excited just to be there but David (my fiance) was insistent of heading straight to the castle to take pictures. His parents took a few pictures with us and then took some of the two of us. Then David said he wanted to take one more and got down on his knee…

I had always thought of how I might react or what I might say… but I just burst into tears and was too speechless. We got to wear “just engaged” buttons all over the park. It was awesome  Here is our picture!

Love love LOVE this story and picture! Thanks Stephanie so much for sharing! 🙂 (And they’re planning their wedding for September 28, 2013!)

Thanks to H. Michael Roberts of Sheridan for sending these gorgeous vintage shots! There are three brides & three dresses profiled below, from different eras and ages — but all ‘vintage’ in that they have been worn & loved…

In these shots below, Kayla’s grandmother first wore this dress in 1958, and Kayla’s mother wore this dress 30 years later, in 1988. It looks lovely on Kayla — and I love to think that now three generations have worn this beautiful dress…(that I think could be very fitting today!)

This next set of images features Ashley… Ashley wore this dress two years ago for her own wedding — and, Mike tells me, she is able to wear this dress again shortly after giving birth! (Can anyone see my green with envy expression through the computer?!) 🙂

I love these images of Kayla, wearing a dress & veil from a local thrift shop…

Thanks to Ludwig Photography in Laramie for sharing their look at Wyoming Sophistication and a beautiful bridal shoot! Mountain Valley Bridal in Laramie provided the attire, Fresh Flower Fantasy in Laramie the flowers, and Alexander’s Fine Jewelry in Laramie the beautiful ring. Here’s what Anne of Ludwig Photography had to say about this shoot…

“One of the biggest reasons we love Wyoming -incredible beauty and savoir faire. Brides are falling in love with simple, sophisticated, and elegant attire.  There is a trend of less is more and our setting: the new University of Wyoming Art Building  was perfect to highlight Max and Sean .Their  incredible bridal assemble (gown, jewelry and tuxedo) was provided by Mountain Valley Bridal. Flowers were the artistry of Fresh Flower Fantasy and their amazing ring from Alexander’s Fine Jewelry.

“Our 2013 brides are drawing inspiration from old world glamour with cinematic and literary influences .We had a wonderful time exploring the fun and flirtation between Max and Sean at the Historic Laramie Train Depot. This trend is already being reflected on red carpets and runways around the world.”

Thanks again to Ludwig Photography in Laramie for sharing this spotlight with us — beautiful ideas and images!

Thanks to Lacee of Leather-n-Lace Photography in Evanston for sharing this fun wedding with us! I love the creative elements they used for their ‘Winter Wonderland Wedding’ on January 6, 2013…here’s some detail from Lacee:

Nicholas & Danielle have been dating a year & a half, engaged since the summer and planned their Winter Wonderland Wedding for the 1st weekend of the new year. They have known each other since high school but met and fell in love at the Uinta County Fair. Married at the Historic Evanston Round House, and their colors were blue & silver. They will continue to reside in Evanston, Wyoming.

These were some super fun ideas! Thanks to Lacee of Leather-n-Lace Photography in Evanston for sharing, and congratulations to Nicholas & Danielle!

Want to rock that dress? Strapless or non, every woman wants to look her best on her day. One element that puts your best foot forward is your upper body. Shoulders, biceps, triceps…these are easy muscles to tone in the months ahead of your day, and they create a stunning profile whether photographed at a distance or up close.

TWO PEOPLE that deserve a call first before you begin ANY exercise workout: #1 and MOST IMPORTANTLY — your physician. Always get your physician’s A-OK before you begin an exercise regimen. #2 — Work with your bridal shop and let them know that you plan on doing some working out in the months ahead. Ask them pointed questions about how the fit of your gown can change, how they handle alterations, and what time frame that will require. Believe me, this 30 minute session with your bridal shop will pay off in HUGE stress reliefs down the road when you plan ahead!

While we’re at it, we want to give a shout out to our awesome Wyoming friends in the bridal attire industry:  Mountain Valley Bridal in Laramie; Hart’s Tux & Gown in Casper; Special Occasions in Sheridan; and Dan D Party Corner in Cheyenne for tux rentals. All of these shops are not only professionals in bridal attire, but also the time frame and commitments it takes to creating the look of your dreams.

Here are some good sites I found for targeting that upper body and finding some rockstar workouts at the same time:

Tricep exercises — Since my UW cheerleading days, I have learned the utter importance the tricep muscle has on our appearance, as well as our daily functioning. It may seem so little utilized, but once you work it out, you’ll discover how much our tricep really does do for you that you never even realized! My go-to exercises? Dips! You can do dips on the living room floor, or in a gym using parallel bars or gym bleachers. I do use closely stanced pushups, a medicine ball or free weights for some tricep extensions, but dips are still my fave (although not in the moment, I hate them in the moment…) Here’s a good site:  http://www.liftingrevolution.com/best-tricep-exercises-for-women/

Shoulder & chest exercises — I’m a pushup girl. I vary the width on my stance and go until my shoulders are shaking. Military presses and lateral raises with free weights are also good, and when I was a cheerleader, old school bench press worked wonders for my shoulders and chest. Nowadays, I vary the pushups at home with the rowing machine at the gym. Set the tunes to cruise and let your mind drift…pure Heaven…  Here’s a good site:  http://www.shape.com/fitness/workouts/5-sexy-shoulder-sculptors

Got a great go-to upper body workout? We’d love to hear about it! Post on our Facebook page or email us at brides@wyomingweddingsonline.com and we’ll add your suggestion to this blog post — and if you have a great workout for another area of the body, shoot us a line as well — we’ll be talking about more fitness in blog posts to come!

adore this engagement spotlight from Ardent Photography in Laramie…Janna and Isaac clearly have some serious chemistry — you can practically feel it oozing from these images… I have to say that I *hope* that we get to spotlight these two’s wedding when it comes time for that…*ahem* I’ll let Stephanie of Ardent say more about these two lovebirds…

Janna and Isaac are a sweet couple, deeply in love and have a flare for the dramatic. Their first date was at a historic theater so it only made sense to capture some of that same magic in their engagement session. We chose their locations thoughtfully, making sure to pay special attention for Janna’s love of anything vintage. Their sessions were split between the Historic Atlas Theater and The Train Depot in Cheyenne, WY. What a visual treat their set turned out to be, we cannot wait for their wedding!

Thanks to Stephanie & Rick of Ardent Photography in Laramie for sharing this gorgeous engagement with us — and congratulations to Janna & Isaac on not only a new adventure in their lives together, but on finding such fabulous, palpable chemistry with each other…this is the stuff of which great loves are made…

Thanks to Heather Erson Photography in Jackson for sending in this beautiful spotlight! Chris & Lou have composed a beautiful piece that represents their love for each other and why they chose the Tetons…I was struggling with how to include snippets of it without losing its integrity, but I finally decided that’s just not possible. So here it is, in its entirety — and it’s a lovely piece that represents their devotion to each other…

Never, in a thousand years, could I ever begin to describe, how it feels to be loved by you. Our life, filled with millions of tiny moments…each little increment of time, which holds fistfuls of devotion and adoration for each other. Our love is fluid. It constantly encircles one another, ever evolving as it moves along the continuum of time. The uniqueness of our connection, unsurpassed by any other, swept cobwebs from the furthest corners of the human heart, and allowed each other to settle comfortably inside. This is, after all, how we began, you and I…intently discovering one another from the inside out.

From outside of the antique display case in the living room, passers by may catch a glimpse of our collection of treasures. A worn leather journal, a jagged rock, a dusted sprig of wheat, an ill placed petrified branch, a rusted tin, or a muted rainbow of broken glass. Each seemingly insignificant item is tagged to a memory and ready to whisper our story. Our passion for nature and our quest to understand its confusion have brought us to awe inspiring places and countless beautiful discoveries. The National Parks, and our hypnosis with them, have lured us countless times from our home in upstate New York. How fortunate we feel, to have wiped our feet all over the west. It was only fitting that we unfolded the map yet again, which would ultimately lead us to our elopement location. This time, Wyoming welcomed us, and the trail’s end was Schwabacher’s Landing. It was here, on the evening of July 3rd, 2012, before the grand backdrop of the Tetons, where we would profess our love and solidify our vows. Little was needed to accompany the elegance of our surroundings….just this man and this woman so deep in their love. The Wyoming breeze brought music from the trees for our procession and a simple bouquet and boutonniere of dried flowers and hand-picked wheat complimented our attire. We listened intently to Pastor Ben Pascal and absorbed the readings we spoke to one another. Then, with hand and hearts fused, we professed that from this day forward, it will be you who holds my promise, it will be you who knows my truth.

The copper bands, which now adorn our left hands, symbolize our eternal love. They are inscribed with the latitude and longitude of our special location, the Ibex Dunes, in the middle of Death Valley National Park. The Ibex Dunes, where each and every miniscule grain of sand has been picked up, carried by the wind and effortlessly dropped at the base of the mountains to create such a wonder. It was here, where we hiked in the most remote place imaginable, a place where few footprints have passed, where sound seemed not to exist. We drank in the sunset, we soaked up the silence and we rejoiced in sharing such beauty with one another. It is a place we will return to one day, hopefully many years from now, as we have named it our final resting destination.

Our photo shoot following the ceremony was remarkable with our photographer Heather Erson and her sensational eye for capturing our unprovoked, quiet moments together. She brought the surrounding area of Schwabacker’s Landing alive through her camera lens and with utmost ease, captured our playful interactions as if she’d known us all of our lives. In alignment with our personalities, we explored the park in our adventurous manner and humorous flair for the first time as husband and wife. We roamed with bison, we investigated the Moulton Barns, and we clung to the last bit of light as it dipped behind the Tetons as seen from Kelly Warm Springs. It was a ‘reception’ like none other. One born from the uniqueness of who we represent as a couple, one in which senses and souls unite and the rest of the world is forgotten for a little while. Our elopement day in Jackson, Wyoming has now evolved into a memory that shall forever be etched in our minds and engraved on our hearts.

Until our map unfolds again,

Mr. and Mrs. Lou and Chris Fisher from Johnsburg, New York.

Thank you again to Heather Erson Photography in Jackson, Wyoming for sharing this beautiful Teton wedding story with us…many congratulations and blessings to Chris & Lou as they journey into a new chapter of their lives together…

Thank you to Lanna Wing Photography in Buffalo for sharing this  wedding with lots of personal touches… Shelly & Randy were married October 31st (yup, Halloween!) in Kaycee — Lanna shares some details of their day with us…

From Lanna:  When Shelly called me to see if I was available on Halloween for a wedding, she was so sweet.  She said, “I know you have kids and probably have plans but we’d really like to you be our photographer.”  I was honored, and made it a point to work out the details on my end so I could be their photographer for their wedding.   She only told me a few things, such as “I got a dress and Randy doesn’t know. It will be a surprise and we want it at sunset.”  When I arrived in Kaycee I met with Randy first and then he went to the spot up on the hill where the wedding was to take place.  I stayed behind with Shelly as she got ready.  The decorations were of a fall theme all of which Shelly made herself and turned out to be just beautiful.  The wedding and reception were small, just like the town of Kaycee, but the love was abundant as seen in their eyes and gestures.  As I began to process the images after the wedding they just had such a “western” and “Wyoming” theme.  I was honored to be their photographer and capture their special day.

Thanks again to Lanna Wing Photography in Buffalo for sharing Shelly & Randy’s special day with us! I LOVE these beautiful fall colors and the sunset — what a way to begin a marriage…
