WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Meghan & Sean

VISIT OUR WEBSITE & FIND A WY VENDOR!

Thanks to Anne of Ludwig Photography in Laramie for sharing this beautiful ranch wedding… Here’s what Anne has to say about Meghan & Sean’s day:

This is one of our most favorite WYOMING true WEST weddings of all times, the wedding of Meghan and Sean Kennedy. Meghan contacted us a year before their wedding because she had heard about our Reflections album (an emotional story about them as a couple) that we create before each couple’s wedding day.  In her heart she really wanted a beautiful image of both she and Sean on horseback in an uncut hay meadow.  When we met with Meghan and Sean we fell in love with their relationship to each other and to the family ranch and their true western lifestyle.  Sean was the typical quiet polite cowboy and let Meghan do most of the talking.  It was so much fun seeing him open up over the year and tickle us with his Cowboy wit and sense of humor.  It was obvious how much he loves Meghan.  He may have been shy but around Meghan his eyes twinkled and his smile beamed.  It was a joy going out to the Kennedy Vale Ranch to capture the iconic image Meghan had described of them both on horseback.  And wow little did we know how good Meghan was with a lasso! Maybe that is how she won his heart when they first met at the University of Wyoming, by just roping him in.

The ranch was incredibly beautiful for the wedding.  Sean and Meghan had been fixing fence, painting, cutting hay and getting everything just so for months.  We had to laugh — everyone in attendance as well as the bridal party, family members and guests all had on their best cowboy boots and Meghan’s were to die for.

It seemed so fitting after the ceremony- two incredible horses were saddled up and ready for the bride and groom to make a getaway to a secluded aspen grove for some photographs as man and wife.  Then a quick Wyoming rainstorm blew through as they raced each other on horseback back to the ranch house and a beautifully decorated white tent for the reception. Upon their arrival the most amazing rainbow appeared out of nowhere to grace the meadow where the delicious chuck wagon dinner and dance were to take place.

From time to time I chat with Meghan on Facebook as the phone service at the base of the mountain is poor and it is comforting to know (using a western phrase I’d heard old timers use when I was a kid) that the LATCH STRING IS ALWAYS OUT for me when I come to visit.

Thanks again to Ludwig Photography of Laramie & Portrait Artist Anne Brande for sharing this spotlight with us! I can visualize the story so well…this is truly a Wyoming fairy tale!

WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Christian & Megan

FIND A WY VENDOR:  http://www.wyoweddings.com/

Thanks to Brian of BHPimaging in Laramie for sending this absolutely breathtaking wedding!!! Christian & Megan were married in northern Wyoming, in an ‘epic’ day (so says Brian) that was filled with love and some VERY snazzy embellishments. But I’ll let these pictures do the talking, because they truly are AMAZING…

Here’s what Brian has to say about this sweet couple and his experience with them:

Christian & Megan are incredibly beautiful and the light was what I wish for every wedding. I also had a brilliant second shooter, a professional photographer in Montana. There is something about the first wedding of the wedding season that really gets me feeling like it’s summer.

When I met both of these lovebirds I was still in photo school. I sat next to Christian in a couple business classes and always really enjoy his company. Megan was that girl that showed up in photo classes and the teachers couldn’t help but rave about her work. I have since had the chance to get to know them both. They are full of love.

Christian and Megan continued dating through college and both moved to Cody, Wyoming after their respective graduations. Megan began diving deeper into the video world and producing outdoor recreation videos, all while keeping her edge sharp for shooting. Christian has found a love for ceramics. He has developed an incredibly genuine style, founded in his passion for rock climbing and the outdoors.  You can begin to see shades of Wyoming Granite in his work.

For their wedding, I was lucky enough to work with artists. These wedding stress me out more than any other… you are shooting for people with highly trained eyes, attention to detail, and a true understanding of what’s happening on my side of the camera.

Their day went so incredibly smooth, the kind of day a wedding photographer dreams of:  warm, hazy light, a beautiful couple that smiles every time they catch each other’s eyes, a shooting schedule that left a little bit of wiggle room, a great second shooter (Shanna Mae Swanson) and friends in front of your lens.

There are times that being a wedding photographer can start to feel less than glamorous. This wedding will be what I think of in those moments. This wedding was so full of special, unique moments. It wasn’t planned to some incredible extent, it was a party in honor of Christian and Megan’s love. It was a party for their friends and their families.

With that said, I’ll turn to BHP’s images from Christian & Megan’s wedding…they are so beautiful…

Thanks again to Brian of BHPimaging in Laramie for sending in this gorgeous wedding — CONGRATS to Christian & Megan, and you are one hip couple, I have to say… May your journeys take you to many more adventures!

Many thanks to Ludwig Photography in Laramie for sending this inspirational shoot our way! Here’s what Anne has to say about this Marilyn-inspired, vintage shoot…

Cassidy called one day and left a message that she had a deep desire, LOVE really, of all things Marilyn. Deep in my heart I could relate. But not just anyone could pull this off.  Marilyn was so natural, beautiful, and true in front of the camera.  Then I met Cassidy:  bubbly, energetic, beautiful both inside and outside — a sweet Wyoming girl as genuine as they come. The day was perfect and all the planning on my end paid off from the hair appointment to scouting around for weeks for the perfect car and location — yes, even nature provided Wyoming wind for that iconic moment. Cassidy could easily have been caught up in being a cliché — but something magical, beautiful and so empowering happened. She was simply stunning and completely the Cassidy we had come to know and love.

I’m so excited to feature this engagement from Dreaming Hollow Photography of Laramie! Catherine is a former Miss Wyoming, and her fiance, Clint, is just the most picture-perfect cowboy one could imagine… What a great set of images! But I’m going to quit yapping and share what Tessa of Dreaming Hollow has to say about these two…

When Clint and Catherine contacted us about their Engagement portraits, they mentioned right away that one of the angles of their love story that they wanted us to document was how they met in the soup kitchen of their church.  They asked if they could use our kitchen for part of the photo session.  Of course we said yes!

We asked Clint and Catherine if they would share a bit about their experience falling in love and how they met.  Here it is, in their words:

“Without God opening the doors and shining His light on their hearts, Clint and Catherine wouldn’t be where they are today: in each others arms. After numerous (secret) attempts by their mutual friends to set them up, Catherine’s dear friend and co-worker, Emily finally gave the situation to God and thanked Him for taking care of the rest. Soon after, Clint and Catherine locked eyes across the room at the High Plains Community Church soup kitchen, Sunday, 11/13/2011. They poured their hearts out to each other while serving pea salad and made plans to see each other again. The rest is history! Through Miss Wyoming experiences and adventures in Colorado and Wyoming, Clint and Catherine grew to be inseparable, despite their busy schedules. After a summer trip to Dallas to meet Catherine’s family, the deal was sealed. Clint proposed Labor Day weekend after a beautiful horseback ride in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. The love, the moment, and the proposal couldn’t have been more perfect! With their friends and family by their sides, the couple plans to say, “I do” beneath Devil’s Tower on August 31, 2013.”

But I’m going to quit yapping and share what Tessa of Dreaming Hollow has to say about these two…

I had the very special privilege of getting to know {Catherine} after photographing her Miss America head shot.  Imagine how excited  we  were when we found out she was ENGAGED to a very handsome COWBOY and that they  wanted us to photograph their engagement session and their wedding coming up in August 2013.

“While discussing options for their engagement session one of the first things they mentioned is that they wanted something outdoors, something big and beautiful, and what could be better than our very own Snowy Range Mountains!  We are just so very fortunate to live in Laramie where gorgeous scenery such as this is just a short drive away and the creative photographic opportunities are just endless!”

A few from their Snowy Range shoot…I LOVE the things that they did with this — more than just Lake Marie (although the lovely lady is in there), but also the Libby Flats lookout and lots of great sunset shots (but I’m saving those for last…)

OK, there is just too much lovely for one blog post — yup, there’s MORE believe it or not… so I’m gonna make this into a two-parter!

Thanks to Ardent Photography of Laramie for sharing this beautiful wedding with us… Here’s what Stephanie had to say about Emily & Brien’s touching Laramie wedding…

Emily and Brien are some of our very good friends. When they were choosing their wedding photographers we urged them not to go with Ardent just because we were friends, but to make sure they looked at a LOT of wedding photography and hire photographers whose work stopped them in their tracks. Deep down inside though Rick and I were crossing our fingers that this awesome couple would soon be Ardent clients. These two are fun, easy going, great friends and above all amazing Christians. They chose to have their ceremony at the gorgeous Laramie Valley Chapel. Instead of a first look, Emily chose not to “see” Brien, but instead pray with him before they walked down the aisle. They stood back to back, while throughout the room tears were flowing (and not just from the happy couple, lol). What started off as a very serious and emotional ceremony ended with the happy couple dancing down the aisle. The dancing shenanigans continued throughout the night as they moved on to their reception at the University of Wyoming Ballroom. We can honestly say this was one of the best receptions we have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. From Emily trying to assault Brien with wedding cake to their surprise first dance montage, their day was filled with unique memories and it was our pleasure to capture them on film. Many people helped with their big day including:

Thanks to Double H Photography, based near Lance Creek, WY, for sending us this fun wedding spotlight! Here’s what Heather has to say about this sweet couple…

Charles and Andrea had to make several last minute adjustments to their July 20, 2012 wedding day, which was scheduled to take place near Vedauwoo, between Laramie and Cheyenne, but had to be moved due to fire danger. The couple took all the changes in stride, and managed to pull off a beautiful indoor wedding and reception. We even managed to sneak the bride and groom off to downtown Laramie for a few outdoor photos. A fun wedding party and guest list full of great people of all ages combined with the bright flowers and “go with the flow” attitude made this one of my favorite couples to date!

Thanks again to Heather of Double H Photography near Lance Creek for sending in this spotlight! If you’d like to see your wedding featured on our blog, it’s easy — shoot us an email at brides@wyomingweddingsonline.com!

adore this engagement spotlight from Ardent Photography in Laramie…Janna and Isaac clearly have some serious chemistry — you can practically feel it oozing from these images… I have to say that I *hope* that we get to spotlight these two’s wedding when it comes time for that…*ahem* I’ll let Stephanie of Ardent say more about these two lovebirds…

Janna and Isaac are a sweet couple, deeply in love and have a flare for the dramatic. Their first date was at a historic theater so it only made sense to capture some of that same magic in their engagement session. We chose their locations thoughtfully, making sure to pay special attention for Janna’s love of anything vintage. Their sessions were split between the Historic Atlas Theater and The Train Depot in Cheyenne, WY. What a visual treat their set turned out to be, we cannot wait for their wedding!

Thanks to Stephanie & Rick of Ardent Photography in Laramie for sharing this gorgeous engagement with us — and congratulations to Janna & Isaac on not only a new adventure in their lives together, but on finding such fabulous, palpable chemistry with each other…this is the stuff of which great loves are made…

WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Megan & Sam

OUR SISTER PUBLICATIONS:  Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine http://www.wyolifestyle.com/ Wyovore  http://www.wyovore.com/ WYO XY http://www.wyolifestyle.com/WYOXY/index.html The Wyoming Woman http://www.thewyomingwoman.com/

Thanks to Ardent Photography in Laramie for sending us this gorgeous, AMAZING idea-filled wedding! Megan & Sam had a beautiful September 2012 wedding day full of personal touches. Read on for more information — and there were so many awesome shots, we had a hard time narrowing it down…

Here are the stats for the wedding — this is a great way to share this kind of information:

Ceremony Site: Curt Gowdy Ampitheatre, Curt Gowdy State Park, between Cheyenne & Laramie in SE WY

Reception Site: Hilton Garden Inn, Laramie

Floral: Poppy’s, Laramie
Photography: Ardent Photography, Laramie
Hair: Studio 220, Laramie
Makeup: Cassandra Garza, Laramie

Megan and Sam’s wedding was so thoughtful, from the intricate details to the care they put into planning their day to be so unique! This couple surprised each other with gifts before the wedding. Sam bought Megan a lovely necklace which was delivered to her in a handmade wooden box. Megan HOWEVER chose to surprise Sam with a MOTORCYCLE that he had his eye on for some time. She had it hidden at Hynds Lodge where he was getting ready and wrapped the key in the box presented to him as a gift. After that we had their first look which consisted of the couple concealed until first site by bunches of balloons adorned in their wedding colors. When the time was right they released their balloons and saw each other for the first time. Megan and Sam chose to say their vows privately to one another before their ceremony. This was such an emotional, heart felt and very touching moment. This couple chose to have their guests sign vintage skis in leau of a guestbook, which was a cute idea we have not seen. This entire wedding was well thought out, planned to perfection and just really screamed Megan and Sam.

Absolutely beautiful!!! Thank you to Ardent Photography for sharing this wedding, and Megan & Sam — my hat’s off to you for one personal wedding! Congratulations, and what a beautiful way to begin your life together as Husband & Wife. Many best wishes to you!

If you’d like to see your wedding or engagement spotlight on our blog, it’s super easy — email us at brides@wyomingweddingsonline.com and voila! We’ll need the blessing of your photographer, but they’ll get the kudos for the images of course!
