Thanks to Mandy Carroll-Bell of MC Picture Company in Sheridan for sharing Mr. & Mrs. Caywood’s beautiful, July 16, 2017 wedding day! The lovely bride is from England, and I love the joining of their homelands in these images. The groom and his mother, Sonja Caywood, are both talented Wyoming artists from Dayton, Wyoming. It’s not surprising that these two had a beautiful wedding full of artistry and love.

Meet Katie and Zach. She’s a student at Sheridan college (part time vet clinic employee, part time Starbucks Barista), he’s a ranch hand at the Padlock ranch. They met in Jackson Hole while working on a dude ranch in 2014. These really sweet & hip engagement photos were taken at Rapid Canyon Ranch outside of Sheridan at the base of the Big Horn mountains, and their wedding will also be at the ranch (I like the date pic!). WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Kate & Dan’s Historic Wedding

Kate & Dan met in college, and recently renewed their friendship. Photography by Mike Roberts of Sheridan was kind enough to share this wedding with us, which was also held on he & his lovely wife’s 47th anniversary! Kate, an artist, had a request of Mike – that the wedding be captured in strictly black & white imaging. (As a side note, Kate’s mother and Mike taught together at Big Horn High School!) Also special – this was the first wedding held in the historic Sheridan Inn following the extensive remodeling that took place over the last year. The renovations allowed for guests to stay in the inn, a feature not available previously. (As another ironic side note, Mike also photographed the last wedding held at the inn before its closure & renovations – on September 29, 2012!

Congratulations to Dori & Brandon, who were married at the bride’s parents’ home June 21 in beautiful Story, Wyoming. Thanks to H. Michael Roberts of Sheridan for sending these gorgeous vintage shots! There are three brides & three dresses profiled below, from different eras and ages — but all ‘vintage’ in that they have been worn & loved…

In these shots below, Kayla’s grandmother first wore this dress in 1958, and Kayla’s mother wore this dress 30 years later, in 1988. It looks lovely on Kayla — and I love to think that now three generations have worn this beautiful dress…(that I think could be very fitting today!)

This next set of images features Ashley… Ashley wore this dress two years ago for her own wedding — and, Mike tells me, she is able to wear this dress again shortly after giving birth! (Can anyone see my green with envy expression through the computer?!) 🙂

I love these images of Kayla, wearing a dress & veil from a local thrift shop…

You know, sometimes it’s just fun to post some cool pictures that have caught our eye over here at Wyoming Weddings…I started off thinking of a theme of pictures, or some sort of unifying thread that connects all of these, and then I thought…ah, heck with it…these are just things that we LOVE. Of course, what WE love may not be what YOU love — and that’s where we want to hear from YOU! Do you have something you adore? We’d love to see it! With that in mind, we’re launching a new weekly series, called I LOVE _____.
