WEDDING SPOTLIGHT: Ben & Nikki

Thanks to Shelby Tweedy Photography  of Casper for sharing Ben & Nikki’s wintry wedding day! (I’m in love with this color scheme of pink + blue in contrast with the white snow!) They were married December 21st, 2013 at Adams Park in Casper. “It was a chilly 20 degrees out, but Nikki, a Scotland native, was right at home amid the snow and cold. She came over to the States for school, but fell in love with an all American cowboy!” Shelby says.

Thanks Shelby Tweedy Photography of Casper for sharing Ben & Nikki’s wintry wedding day with us! What a neat idea, getting married in a white wintry wonderland!

I love so many things that Ardent Photography in Laramie does…and on one of their ‘Wedding Wednesday Must-Do’ blog posts I saw this idea — must share!!! LOVE! Click on their linked name above to visit their blog post for more wedding love & inspiration…Ardent ROCKS!

This set of signs is available via Etsy…the bride & groom write a list of things that they love about each other, which is then converted into this misty-eye worthy bit of wedding decor…the picture is linked to the Etsy page…

This one was such a cute find…the flyer included details on the bride & groom so that when one is waiting for the wedding to start and ‘fighting boredom,’ they have you covered. They are so considerate!

OK, so this isn’t flowers from Poppy’s Flowers in Downtown Laramie, but sometimes you just got to share something cute when the opportunity presents itself… Poppy’s also carries adorable clothes, and I have my eye on some scarves & candles down there…(can they make one of these for me with my Daisy dog on it?!)

And a little bit of inspiration from the fabulous Photography by Mike Roberts in Sheridan…this is from a very patriotic wedding held in Rock Springs July 4 — we’ll share more on this wedding, but had to share this pic — patriotic strawberries?! Fabulous and worthy any time of year, I say!

WEDDING INSPIRATION: Rhea & Travis

Thanks to Brian Harrington of bhpimaging for sharing this really cool wedding with us!  Rhea & Travis were married September 1, 2012 in Worland at the fairgrounds. But look at how they transformed a fairgrounds — and brought their own retro flair to the party! Here’s what Brian had to say… “This is a young couple with a lot of love and adventure ahead of them. Travis is in the Navy (as you tell by the blues…and the homage to the Sailor in Times Square image). Rhea’s family had a passion for classic cars, and their passion was laced throughout the entire day…sooooo many stinking cool cars there…”

I have to take a moment to give Brian and bhpimaging a shout out, because I love what he says about his work:  “My images are simple, directive, fun, and youthful… My work tends to please the young couple looking for something different. I love working ALL OVER Wyoming, and destination weddings anywhere.” I love this. VERY cool.

Thanks to E&R Photography and Photobooth in Casper for sharing this beautiful engagement shoot with us! Talk about Wyoming western wonderland…I LOVE these creative and beautiful images! Jamie contacted us and shared their story with us…I love a story that includes the phrase “it must’ve been fate…”

Brian and I met on December 3, 2011 at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, NV.  My sister and I were there enjoying their annual trip to the NFR, and Brian was hauling horses across the country and just happened to stop in for the night.  It must’ve been fate, because we spent nearly every weekend after we met together, even though we were living hours apart. In August, Brian proposed in Evanston at the old train depot.   We are planning an outdoor ceremony for September 7, 2013 at my parents’ ranch near Lusk, WY. (Be sure to check out the awesome ‘save the date’ picture idea!)

Thanks again to Jamie, Brian and E&R Photography and Photobooth in Casper for sharing this beautiful engagement with us — and congratulations to Jamie & Brian! If you’d like to share your beautiful Wyoming wedding or engagement story with us, shoot us a line at brides@wyomingweddingsonline.com!

Thanks to Honey Bee Photography in Laramie for sending in this Native American-inspired bridal shoot…I love the drama and mystery of these images! The fog, the boats, the outfits…it just is so romantic and touching. Owner Faith Noel of Honey Bee worked with Poppy’s Flowers and Sweets: Special Occasion Cakes & Pastry, both of Laramie, to help create the look. When it comes to planning your signature ‘look’ for your wedding,  your wedding vendors can be an awesome help. As you’ll read below in the quote from Faith, a stylized theme and look is very popular. You can find inspiration from guides, websites and blogs (like ours!), Pinterest, etc. — you’ll begin to realize what your style is as you save images that you love, then look back through them. Share your inspirational items with your vendors, and they can help you as well to find your unique style.

Here’s what Honey Bee’s owner & photographer, Faith Noel, had to say about this shoot:  “Highly stylized weddings and engagements are a growing trend within the wedding industry. I have spent the last couple of months planning this Indie Native American stylized bridal shoot with the help of many amazing vendors in the area. The look we were going for was an epic romance.” (I think they hit the mark!)

Be sure to come visit our Laramie Bridal Expo: The Fall Edition to meet our amazing Laramie-area vendors! October 21, 1-4 PM at the UW HIlton Conference Center — FREE admission!

When it comes to a highly stylized wedding, and simply finding your ‘look,’ be sure to collect your inspirational items and share them with your vendors. They are there to help make your dreams come true! Honey Bee Photography & Poppy’s Flowers both have storefront locations in Historic Downtown Laramie!

We’re very excited to shine the spotlight on Marshall Jewelry from Gillette! After many years located in downtown Gillette, Marshall Jewelry moved to a bigger, brighter location in 2001, at 1103 E. Boxelder Road, between Applebee’s and Home Depot.

Marshall Jewelry employs two in-house Goldsmiths to take care of custom designs and repair. “Unless your jewelry has to be returned to the supplier for some reason, you have the peace of mind of knowing your jewelry never leaves the store,” they say.  Marshall Jewelry employs two Graduate Gemologists, and two members of the remaining staff are certified from the Gemological Institute of America. “This allows the staff to accurately appraise and identify gemstones,” they explain. “It also prepares them for when we go to Antwerp, Belgium to hand pick diamonds each year.”

“If you have any questions we’d be more than happy to try answer them,” Marshall Jewelry adds. “If you’re looking for a certain something, you can also email us to see if we might have something in our collection.”

Beautiful jewelry, including engagement and wedding rings, join expertise, experience and excellent customer service at Marshall Jewelry in Gillette. Visit their website or give them a call at 307-686-6666 to see what they can do for you!

Thanks to Kate of The Rancher’s Wife’s Photography and Julie Livermore Photography for sending in this team approach to this BEAUTIFUL wedding! Nathan & Kimberly were married in Elk Hollow on July 21, 2012. The images are individually marked, but I’ll also point out who did what…these are two remarkable artists serving Southern Wyoming!

Here is what Julie & Kate had to say about this beautiful day… “I am overwhelmed with beautiful images from this wedding at Elk Hollow Lodge, near Saratoga, WY, so there will be two parts. The day was perfect from beginging to end, despite a thunderstorm delay! Here are images leading up to the ceremony…the radiant bride getting ready, her beautiful bridal party, the little attendants, and the groom and his men getting ready by the river. The second half of Nate and Kimberly’s big day! I loved capturing the guests’ expressions as Kimberly was escorted across the field on her horse by her dad and step-dad. The sweet little ringbearer seemed to have the longest walk, pulling the baby flowergirl in a wagon across the flower strewn aisle. After the touching ceremony, we took portraits by the river, mountains, and in the golden fields. Signs led us to the party after, where a band, sweets bar, dinner, dancing and toasting followed. I had a difficult time narrowing down photos to share…enjoy!”

OK, I am IN LOVE with this wedding from {k} photography in Thermopolis… I couldn’t pick out just a few images, so I went a bit nuts here. (I’d sorry, but…I’m really not. Just take a look.)  John & Jessi were married September 22, 2012, near Pavillion, Wyoming. Obviously western was the theme, but I have to say that this is a kick butt western wedding…love love LOVE love LOVE love love love…and love some more. OK, I’m going to stop now. Thanks to Julie Livermore Photography for sending in this beautiful engagement story from Rawlins… Cheynae & Rob met in October 2007 when Cheynae was a waitress at Sanford’s in Rawlins. The restaurant has since closed, and Cheynae & Rob moved on, but wanted to return to Rawlins and have their engagement shoot take place…”where their story began,” as Julie says. “Because they were only in town for a night, we had to deal with some frigid temps and gusting winds…just a typical late spring day in Carbon County!  In addition to some images downtown, with the Sanford’s building in the frame, we also drove out of town a bit to take advantage of the unique Wyoming scenery!”

Cheynae shared a couple of special stories about Rob’s proposal on December 27, 2011:  “Rob secretly invited my dad and his dad & stepmom to Montana (I was under the impression they were there for Christmas) and proposed in our new camper. This was a big step for us as it was our first actual “home” together!”  Rob also, without knowing, chose a very special day to propose. “Rob proposed on his grandmother’s birthday and didn’t realize it until we called his aunt to spill the good news,” Cheynae says. “She passed away from cancer a few years ago and was very near & dear to Rob’s heart. So we took that as a spiritual sign that she approved.” Cheynae adds that Rob just woke up that morning and “felt that it was right.” Chills!

Cheynae & Rob are planning their wedding date for June 7, 2014.
